**Updated** Cluster Detection Webinar 2/16th

The CSTE Epi Methods Subcommitee invites you to join an upcoming webinar entiled "Application of Cluster Detection in Public Health" presented by Dr. Agricola Odoi on February 16th at 1pm EST. The presentation will cover overview and applications of spatial cluster detection methods commonly used in Public Health disease investigations. Methods to be covered will include both global and local methods. Strengths and limitations of the methods will be discussed and recommendations of appropriate methods for particular situations given. Both free and commercially available software applications for analysis of disease clusters will be discussed. Examples of public health projects involving disease cluster investigations from the presenter’s work will be shared.
About the Speaker:
Agricola Odoi, BVM, MSc, PhD, FAHA, FACE, Dipl. AVES is a Professor of Epidemiology with specific interests and expertise in Health GIS, spatial and quantitative epidemiology. Dr. Odoi is a Fellow of both the American Heart Association and the American College of Epidemiology. He is also a diplomate of the American Veterinary Epidemiology Society. He has over 16 years’ experience teaching Descriptive and Applied Epidemiology, GIS & Geographical Epidemiology and Advanced Epidemiology. Dr. Odoi served as a mentor for the CDC-funded National Epidemiology Mentorship Program of the National Association of Chronic Disease Directors (NACDD). As a mentor of the NACDD program, he has mentored many Public Health Epidemiologists from across the United States. Before joining academia, he was a Public Health Epidemiologist, Information Management Analyst and Health Management Analyst. He is currently a grant review chair for the American Health Association (AHA) and has served as a grant reviewer for the National Institutes of Health (NIH). He is an academic editor for PLoSONE, BMC Public Health, Frontiers in Public Health and PeerJ, among other journals. He has also been a peer reviewer for over 37 international scientific journals and has published over 87 journal articles.
