CSTE Zika Preparedness Toolkit Workgroup

Document 170907 Text for Tool Request from CSTE Members_MP_ and_PE_MP_9_8 rev.docx (15.9 KB)

Attached is a document that will be sent to the 300 members of CSTE's Vector-borne Disease Work Group to solicit for tools that they have used in their work regarding Zika virus prevention and control. These tools are much less likely to be found on the Web. If they are there, searching for them could be laborious and inefficient.
Please send me whatever tools you may have used or are using in your own health departments. Many thanks!

Good morning Paul,

In reviewing the text for the notification to the CSTE Vector-borne Disease Work Group, I had a question/concern. If we ask folks to send all materials developed during the past year and a half, I’m assuming we will receive a significant number of materials that are currently irrelevant. In NYS, we have kept outdated materials in an archived area on the website but have more or less hidden them from general viewing as we don’t want folks reviewing outdated information, as our knowledge of Zika and testing guidelines have changed dramatically over time. Are you planning on ‘archiving’ outdated information that is sent to you so it doesn’t lend confusion to the toolkit or would you consider asking folks to provide only ‘current’ guidance, outreach materials, etc.?

Best,
Jenn

Hi Jenn,

This is a great point. We should definitely modify language so it reads that we only want materials that are based on current guidance.
