eCR/RCKMS Community of Practice

The purpose of the eCR/RCKMS Community of Practice Basecamp is to provide staff from state, local, territorial, and tribal public health agencies with a venue to participate in peer-to-peer discussions pertaining to using RCKMS. This Basecamp is not intended for formal communications about RCKMS or eCR and will not be moderated by CSTE staff. Consuming the eICR

Hello Teams, 
I am working with DE / DPH and currently we receive eICRs but have not yet consumed them into our surveillance system.  We work with the eICR as HTML and then update manually.  Our teams are working towards automating this but we have some questions.  

I wanted to get some feedback from those of you that are receiving eICR Reports AND are systematically consuming them into your surveillance systems.  Do you consume all the eICR data or do you filter out what you want AND before consuming does your system perform validation checks against data to ensure you won't import data that will create a bad record/dup record for say - missing SSN value, or missing race or ethnicity if you require these.  Any perspective is appreciated.

I'm grateful for your input and feedback. Although, technically, this topic falls outside of the specific RCKMS tool function, it's an important and interesting eICR question. The RCKMS team is reviewing your topic idea: I will followup with you-all shortly, here, with their input and responses.  Meanwhile, we invite other jurisdictions to share their experiences here to describe ways that you consume and process eICR's.
