eCR/RCKMS Community of Practice

The purpose of the eCR/RCKMS Community of Practice Basecamp is to provide staff from state, local, territorial, and tribal public health agencies with a venue to participate in peer-to-peer discussions pertaining to using RCKMS. This Basecamp is not intended for formal communications about RCKMS or eCR and will not be moderated by CSTE staff. For technical issues or assistance with RCKMS, please visit www.rckms.org to submit a ticket. eCR Booth at the 2023 CSTE Annual Conference

Hello eCR/RCKMS Community:

CSTE in collaboration with CDC and APHL is hosting an eCR Booth at the 2023 CSTE Annual Conference. We hope to see you there!

As part of our planning, the eCR and RCKMS teams would like to dedicate time at the eCR Booth to discuss specific topics around eCR and RCKMS that may be of interest to the Public Health community.

Below are some general topic areas that our teams have identified:

·         Timeboxing
·         General onboarding
·         DQ Schematron
·         Authoring
·         Triggering
·         Content

However, we also want to hear from you…what topics would you like to hear more about at the eCR Booth? Please let us know by Friday June 2, 2023.

As per our recent post to the discussion board, VT is looking for guidance/recommendations on any QA documentation used during the PHA Validation phase of the eCR onboarding process. We would like to discuss best practice for reviewing and documenting incoming eCRs during PHA Validation to ensure data quality before manual reporting is discontinued. We would like to be able to learn about this topic at the eCR Booth at the CSTE Conference if possible!

Hi Shahidah,
We ran in to a snag with the Cancer condition and found it to be somewhat vague with it's criteria offerings. We actually ended up retiring it because of the number of eCR messages received. Is the RCKMS team planning to add more to this condition to receive isolate and receive specific details about the cancer and type?
Some of the data elements of interest to our program includes:
1) the SEER Summary Stage
2) AJCC Stage (clinical and Pathologic)
3) Diagnostic confirmatory testing such as histology, cytology, flow cytometry, radiography, etc.
Last comment is whether time-boxing may be added in the future for the cancer condition.

Hi Deb, Thank you for your comments for the Cancer reporting specification, we will discuss with the Content team. We are planning to update Cancer criteria for the next release (likely 2024), but your input will be very valuable. I will loop you into a few emails if that's ok with you.

Here is our case report form for Cancer if it is helpful. This is a fairly new program for MDHHS and is very manual. Our oncology clinics would like to report electronically through eCR and our program is very interested to receive the data electronically. Please let us know how we may help!
