Ongoing CDC Viral Hemorrhagic Fever (VHF) response: Reminder to author VHF in RCKMS

Hello all,
As you might be aware, CDC issued a HAN yesterday, February 6th,  about a recently confirmed outbreak of Ebola disease in Uganda caused by the Sudan virus (species Orthoebolavirus sudanense).

The VHF Reporting Specification in RCKMS contains the following conditions (bolded conditions are those relevant to the current outbreak):
  • Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever
  • Ebola hemorrhagic fever
  • Lujo virus
  • Machupo hemorrhagic fever
  • Marburg fever
  • Sabia-associated hemorrhagic fever
  • Junín hemorrhagic fever
  • Guanarito hemorrhagic fever
  • Lassa fever
  • Chapare hemorrhagic fever
CDC and CSTE are requesting that PHAs author the latest version of VHF in RCKMS (version 20240628). Please contact your jurisdiction’s Authoring Support Associate for any authoring support needs.

Please submit a ticket to the eCR/RCKMS Shared Ticketing Service if a report received for VHF appears not to meet criteria so that the technical support team can investigate.

Thank you,
CSTE RCKMS team
