eCR/RCKMS Community of Practice

The purpose of the eCR/RCKMS Community of Practice Basecamp is to provide staff from state, local, territorial, and tribal public health agencies with a venue to participate in peer-to-peer discussions pertaining to using RCKMS. This Basecamp is not intended for formal communications about RCKMS or eCR and will not be moderated by CSTE staff. For technical issues or assistance with RCKMS, please visit www.rckms.org to submit a ticket. SetID

How is SetID generated? Is it created by the eCR interface, or is this something that lives inside the EHR? Thanks!

SetID is created by the sending EHR (or the eCR Now FHIR App for EHRs that use it). It allows all eICRs from an encounter to be readily linked to each other.

All App implementations are providing SetID now, but not all EHR developed solutions do so. 

SetID has been made "required" in the eICR Version 3.1 implementation guide, so it should be more consistently implemented in EHR developed solutions going forward.

SetID is integral for public health to identify unique patients/individuals and mitigate volume for our users.

It's great to hear that SetID has been made "required" in v3.1.

Virginia is also glad to hear that SetID has been made required in v3.1. We use it to identify each unique health care organization (HCO), and use it in our custom route to be able to direct eCRs to either our Prod or Test surveillance systems.
