eCR/RCKMS Community of Practice

The purpose of the eCR/RCKMS Community of Practice Basecamp is to provide staff from state, local, territorial, and tribal public health agencies with a venue to participate in peer-to-peer discussions pertaining to using RCKMS. This Basecamp is not intended for formal communications about RCKMS or eCR and will not be moderated by CSTE staff. ✨ Submit your questions about Timeboxing diagnosis/ problem rules in RCKMS by 5/24/2023

As presented on the May 9th Public Health eCR Data Quality Subgroup call, the national eCR team is working towards rolling out support for Timeboxing of Diagnosis/Active Problem rules in RCKMS (see attached slides 4-19). Based on the questions received during the call, the RCKMS Team is preparing materials to illustrate how specific timeboxing scenarios would work in the “real world.” These resources will include an overview of the relationship between eICR triggering from healthcare and the implementation of timeboxing to Diagnosis/Active Problem rules in RCKMS.

Example use cases may include:
  • An initial eICR is triggered from healthcare, followed by updates to the patient encounter that result in updated versions of the eICR being triggered. How does timeboxing impact the reportability (to public health) of the initial eICR and the subsequent updates? 
  • An eICR is triggered from healthcare by something other than a Diagnosis/Active Problem (e.g., lab result); however, a Diagnosis/Active Problem for the reportable condition is included in the eICR. Timeboxing is enabled for the Diagnosis/Active Problem criteria. How will timeboxing impact reportability to public health?
The RCKMS administrators will hold a Timeboxing Office Hours on June 8th to demonstrate authoring and provide user education for configuring Timeboxing (more information about the time and agenda is forthcoming).
