Thanks all who attended the working group call this morning!
Here is a description of what we discussed:
1. We assigned the 4 sections of the CSTE policy brief as follows: Section I: Description of problem to be addressed (Laura and Abelardo) Section II: Justification of importance to CSTE membership (Liz and Rhoel) Section III: Position on policy or issue (Ros and Ben) Section IV: Options for consideration and next steps (Carl and Susanna)
2. The first draft will be completed by December 16th and emailed to Abelardo who will compile and share the full draft with the core group that same day.
3. A Doodle Poll will be sent for a core group call to discuss the first draft during the week of January 6th.
4. Jordan and Abelardo will work on a detailed timeline.
5. Laura will reach out to medical entomologists at other CoEs to serve as reviewers for the final draft of the policy brief.
6. Abelardo will (a) ask Jordan about the venues for visibility for this policy brief and (b) ask Courtney Youngbar at ASTHO for the ASTHO survey that describes how PH entomology positions are currently funded and the number of states with state PH entomologists.

Hi everyone,
As promised, I have combined what everyone sent into one document for us to review. I will send out an invitation for a working group call for the week of January 6th based on your responses on the doodle poll.
In addition, I have contacted a couple of state public health entomologists and veterinarians to ask them for feedback on the importance and impact that their position has had on their state. I also asked if they would be willing to provide any examples of how their position has been a game changer in responding to emerging public health needs and if they would be willing to review a draft of our policy statement when it is ready. I hope the last part is ok with everyone!
