• Hosted weekly (until March 2021) and bi-weekly (until May 2021) COVID-19 Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAI) Listening
Sessions with CDC’s Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion and CSTE’s HAI Subcommittee. After May, COVID-19 HAI topics
were rolled into the standing monthly HAI Subcommittee call series.
• Hosted biweekly COVID-19 Case Investigation and Contact Tracing (CI/CT) workgroup calls to discuss challenges and promising
practices, including metrics and indicators for measuring impact of CI/CT on disease transmission.
• Hosted several ad hoc webinars on topics such as: Exposure Notification Technology; Wastewater Surveillance; COVID-19 in
Pregnancy; and COVID-19 Whole Genome Sequencing Data Dashboards and Visualization.
Partnerships
• Coordinated with APHL and CDC on electronic laboratory reporting topics, including meeting federal standards and requirements
for expanding lab reporting needs and solutions for onboarding, receiving, and managing increasing volumes of lab data.
• Coordinated with APHL to routinely release updated versions of
National Electronic Laboratory Reporting (ELR) Flat File and HL7
Generator Tool.
• Collaborated with ASTHO, NACCHO and APHL on mutual COVID-19
response priorities to streamline overall response coordination with
CDC’s IMS and other federal public health agencies.
• Collaborated with Linux Foundation Public Health and Resolve to Save Approved
Lives to form a new working group focused on disease investigation
and outbreak response technology. Stakeholders and partners learn revised COVID-19
from each other, share best practices and areas of improvement, and
help promote effective and sustainable CI/CT technologies. standardized
