• Created an Overdose Data to Action Innovative Surveillance Community of Practice for health department staff working on
related activities across three workgroup topics: Linkage to Care Surveillance, Local Outbreak Detection, and Monitoring
Illicit Drug Supply.
• Through the CSTE Alcohol Morbidity Workgroup, developed the indicator “Hospitalizations Related to Alcohol” to better
estimate alcohol related morbidity. The workgroup also developed a How-to Guide, SAS code, and age adjustment calculation
tool.
• Formed the Early Career Professionals Subcommittee to support students and those new to the field of applied epidemiology.
Convenings & Meetings
• Convened 190 sessions, workshops, and roundtables at the 2021 Virtual CSTE Annual Conference.
• Hosted the 2020 CSTE/CDC HIV Leadership Meeting to identify future collaborative activities based on HIV subcommittee
priorities and identified capacity needs.
• Hosted the 2020 Syndromic Surveillance Symposium for syndromic surveillance practitioners to share best practices and
lessons learned in the field.
• Hosted the 2021 Climate, Health and Equity Summit to share best practices and develop strategies to improve skills and
knowledge of STLT climate and health epidemiologists.
• Hosted the 2021 Spring CORHA Meeting to discuss progress, opportunities, and emerging topics related to outbreaks of
healthcare-associated infections and antimicrobial resistant pathogens.
• Hosted the 2021 National Association of State Public Health Veterinarians (NASPHV) Annual Business Meeting to discuss
issues in zoonotic disease control and prevention, develop guidance documents, and facilitate NASPHV internal business.
• Co-hosted the 2020 Integrated Foodborne Outbreak Response and Management (InFORM) Virtual Conference.
• Hosted the 2021 Disaster Epidemiology Workshop to improve all-hazard disaster preparedness and response epidemiology
capacity at all levels.
• Hosted a two-day virtual meeting of the CSTE Injury Surveillance Workgroup to discuss injury projects and upcoming
priorities.
